Keeping Ourselves Safe

We have been learning about ways that we can keep ourselves safe.  We have been talking a lot about feelings and how important it is to recognise our feelings and talk about them.  Here is a song clip that we watched on youtube about feelings:

Wahoo! World Champions!

At Carlton School we have been celebrating the All Blacks winning the Rugby World Cup!  Last Friday we had a Black-out day where everyone in the school wore as much black as they could. Room 11 and 12 made a flag supporting the All Blacks and in particular Ma'a Nonu and Julian Savea (numbers 11 & 12).  Here is a picture of the awesome flag we made:

Art Exhibition

Here is the Room 11 and 12 Art Exhibition display!
We read the ‘Rainbow Fish’ stories by
Marcus Pfister.
We used the illustrations to inspire us to create our own rainbow fish.
Our medium was paint and we experimented with a range of paint tools.  Some of these included finger painting, cotton buds, sponges and spray bottles.

We also painted on a variety of surfaces to explore the texture created.  These surfaces included CD’s, paper plates, tin foil and bubble wrap.

Today we had our fourth and last lesson at the Boys and Girls Gym Club.  We have learnt so much and had heaps of fun.  We know how to use the gym equipment safely, how to do a motorbike landing and how to cartwheel!  Here are a few pictures from our time at the gym:
